19 December 2009 - Come back home!

After a so hot week, full of emotions, gratifications, bad luck, troubles, where the pit area has been our home, finally we come back home from our families.

Thanks to all ... to all our friends that supported us, to all the teams that helped us, to the rescue team that protected us and to the FWS and all his collaborators that make possible to live all these emotions.

See you all next year!

18 December 2009 - 2009 F2 World Championship Fujairah

The so long waited day is arrived ... today the 2009 F2 World Cahmpionship ends! There are 7 drivers that mathematically can become the new World Champion, also Alex!

During the free practise of the morning Alex gains a fantastic time and with 48:73 beats also the yesterday pole of Ivan.

At 15:30 after the usually parade lap the 2009 F2 World championship starts ... Alex starts very well and in the first buoy he has already overtook lots of drivers, but an accident occurred between Davide Padovan and Philippe Tourre (fortunately both save) and so, as for rules, drivers had to line up as in the starting grid during the yellow flag. The Alex's work is always more hard, he restarts last again but, boat by boat, always on the limit, he gains positions and at the end of the race is fourth. Well done Alex!

Ivan Brigada wins the race followed by Colin Jelf and Johan Coenradi, then Alex and Uvis Slakteris. But at the technical controls Ivan is disqualified and so he loose both the race than the World title. Colin wins the race and Alex is third.

Johan Coenradi is the new F2 World Champion, second Uvis Slakteris and then Colin Jelf. Alex ends this season in fourth position.

Today are scheduled free practise and two crono sessions.

Alex gains a good time during the free practise but during the first crono session his engine broke! Alex had a good time but unfortunately the engine is not reparable and had to be changed and so the time is lost.

In a great hurry the spare engine is installed but something goes wrong and Alex, during the second crono session, is not able to try to get a good time.

What an unlucky day ... again!

Tomorrow Alex will be the last on the starting grid and he'll need all of his force to try to recupetare as much position he can and the team we'll needs all the night to try to solve the engine problems!

This day is free in preparation of the last race of the 2009 F2 World Championship.

All the teams are working to prepare at the best the boats and the engines ... and there is a little of time to repose and to visit the city of Fujairah that gives us hospitality.

15 December 2009 - 2009 F2 Continental Championship

After a long night spent on the pit to repair the boat and control engine, we face the Continental Cup.

Fully day with free practise, two crono session and the race in the afternoon.

Alex can't attend the free practise because the patch still has to dry.

During the first crono session he takes a good time 48:89 but the pole goes to Ivan who takes 48:67 during the second crono session. Is during the Q2 that Alex has some problems at the engine, but the race is coming and no reparation can be made.

The starting grid is the following:

Fujairah Continental Cup

The Alex problems to the engine are visible still the first lap, he has no speed, but he tries to do his race. Owen is the first still the first lap, then Yousef and Alex. Unfortunately at the twelfth lap a bad accident occurs between Erik Stark and Johan Ostemberg. Fortunately both drivers are safe. After about fifteen laps in yellow flag the race restarts with the last laps., during the restart Yousef obtains the first place before Owen and Alex.

Fujairah Continental Cup

Now we have to front the engine problems and try to solve them. Tomorrow is a free day and we'll have time to do that.

14 December 2009 - 2009 F2 World Championship Fujairah

Finally the sun! Now it really seems to be in the UAE.

In spite of the sun a soft wind blows that move the water and the time raise a little. Alex is still the faster during the free practise with 50:62.

The second crono session is a "waiting" for Alex. No one improve and the Alex maintain the pole.

The starting grid is the following:

Starting Grid

The race starts at 15:30. Alex is in pole but Ivan is faster and in the first buoy turns before Alex. Immediately starts the hot pursuit that for about fifteen laps keeps all the spectators with bated breath. But during the slow laps under yellow flag Alex feels that something goes wrong. The boat has water inside and Alex is forced to come back fast to the crane to avoid to worse the situation. We saw then that the left spoonson is damaged. A little collision with Lazlo that didn't seem serious is instead fatal.

Lots of bitterness to have loose the opportunity to gain points for the ranking, we could be pleased of the second position but, who nothing dare nothing hope, and Alex is a fighter.

Fujairah Race

It will be a long night hoping to be able to repair our boat.

We would like to thanks all the teams that offer us their help and in particular the South African team that spent all the night with us and repair our boat with Roger.

Well done Caol!!!

Appointment with the second round of the Formula 2 World Championship 2009 in the beautiful setting of Port Ghalib (Egypt).

The team arrived on Monday night and already the day after is operating in emptying the container and set up the gazebo. These first days were devoted to the accommodation and review of the equipment and the development of engines and boat in addition to the technical checks.

Tomorrow we enter the heart of the competition with the free practice and qualifying.

Because of the rather narrow circuit, the judges have decided to compete only 14 boats. Tomorrow there will be two sessions of time trials in groups of 10 boats. The first 5 of each session you go directly to the race, while others will play a qualifying session Saturday morning before the race and the first 4 entering the final race.

Again, because of the particular circuit does not play the Match Race and the Speed Record.
